Question:
Hold that thought for 20 or 30 years, then re-examine it.
I am not a child Bob.
But you are 20-30 years younger than Bob who is, in fact, older than dirt.
I know quite a few people in Bob's age group that regret the tattoos they
got when young so he may have a point
Personally I'm gonna invest in tattoo removal clinics I think they will VERY
busy in the future years.
Tattoo or Piercing?
Tattoo Removal Clinics problem?
Answer:
- Too true. On the personal basis, it goes back to my grandmother (whom I never
met), and what she told my father long, long before I was born. My father had
enlisted in the Navy, WW1, (1917). My father had been raised in San Diego, CA,
and know all about the Navy at that time, as he lived only four blocks from the
bay. As he was about to leave, his mother (my grandmother) said to him "Son,
you are going to sea. Tattoos are very popular among sailors, and some night
you are going to have a drink too many, and want to get one. I want you to
promise me just one thing. Before you get a tattoo, be sure, utterly sure, that
the tattoo you get is something that you want to wear on your body for the rest
of your life. My father (God rest his great soul) had nary a tattoo on him. He
said the same thing to me, when I went into the Army. I have no tattoo.
Neither of my children went into the service, and I never made the speech. At
27 and 25, they are investigating the cost of removing the tattoos they got when
they left home. Its quite expensive. The tattoo's just aren't as "cool" as they
were when they were 20.
I will say this. Tattoos are not illegal. They are not immoral. I do
consider them barbaric, but that is personal. Just be damn sure when you get
one, that it is something you want for the rest of my life. My next door
neighbor, one year younger than I, cannot afford to get rid of some of his. He
has come to hate them. He will wear a long sleeved shirt even when its 100+f.
in the summer, just to hide them.
If I were even 20 years younger I'd join you. I think it will be a very big
business.
- And I know quite a few people who got sensible tatoos when they were young
and don't regret them. "Popular Culture" is for more tasteful tatoos than
was the case years ago. I think you are less likly to regret a small symbol
on you navel than a huge cupid and love heart across your chest.
