Question:
I cannot put an enchantment on a creature with protection from some
attribute of the enchantment (Is there anything with Protection from
Enchantments? That might be an interesting ability)
Don't think any creatures have it, but Tattoo Ward is an enchant
creature that, among other things, gives the creature protection from
enchantments (and which specifically states that this protection doesn't
remove Tattoo Ward, so it stays on). Anybody have idea?
Answer:
- You have to choose something the enchantment can _enchant_ - something
it can be attached to legally. Part of proFoo is "can't be enchanted by
Foo enchantments", which is a different part than the 'can't be the target
of Foo spells or of abilities from Foo sources' part. And proEnchantments
exists: Tattoo Ward grants it (with the necessary added text "this doesn't
remove Tattoo Ward").
- Off the subject, what if I have a Tattoo Ward and, oh, I dunno,
Armadillo Cloak in the graveyard and only a Femeref Enchantress in
play, then I play Replenish?
Would both enchantments pop onto the Enchantress, with SBE nailing the
Armadillo Cloak the moment it realizes the Tattoo Ward gives
protection? Or would only the Armadillo Cloak come out?
