Question:
Need info on price oftattoo removal and more...?
A friend of mine recently go a tattoo and has decided now that she made a
bad choice to get it. She wants it gone but wants to know people's guess at
the cost to remove it. She would also like to know any info about it like
pain, and how the procedure is done.
Answer:
- $500.00 per sq. in. with the new laser surgery... Length of time
depends on how big the tattoo is... Pain... Take a thick rubber band
attach a needle to it and snap it repeatedly a hundred times a second
across your skin... *S* Supposedly ten times worse than having the
tattoo inked on to begin with... I've never done it, and hope I don't
have to in the future either...
- I'm sorry that your friend no longer wants her tattoo. JasoN's price quote was
about right. If your friend really isn't interested in ShadowWolf's suggestion
of a cover-up (which, when done right, won't look like a big black blob over
her old ink), the Yellow Pages heading is Tattoos-Removal. www.switchboard.com
is a good place to start.
- you can buy an entire box of steel wool pads for about a dollar
these days; that should be enough for four tattoos.
- Personally, I think your friend should take some time to think of a
design/image that she would like to have on her body for the rest of her
life. Then, talk to a good artist about doing a cover up with the new
design. That way she gets rid of the old tat - gets a new one to boot,
saves some money, and endures less pain. However, if she just hates the
idea of keeping any tattoo, I can't really help you. Never looked into
removal, because I waited to make sure I really wanted the tat, liked
the design, got someone who could do it right, etc, and have never
regretted it.
