Question:
Removal of Eyebrow Tattoo?
I've had an 16ga ring in my right eyebrow for almost a year-and-a-half,
and now, at the prospect of a REALLY BIG job interview I'd like to take
it out, at least temporarily. (Normally, I wouldn't even think of itk,
but this is a really big deal) During the first couple months, it did
some migrating toward the surface but has been fairly stable since.
So, is this something I can do at home or should I go see my lfriendly
neighborhood piercer?
Answer:
- You should be able to do it yourself...unless the ring is very small
and you need help. Try putting a short length of monofilament
line in to keep the hole open
- I have only had my eyebrow ring since jan, but i have taken it out
twice now. it is a bit of a pain to do. the first time i put some
weedwhacker cord through ,but that was realy difficult (it wanted to
bend all over the place) the second time i just left it out all day.
the biggest problems i have had were getting the damn ball back on the
ring. YMMV however i had no problems.
- believe it or not, I actually have to take my ring out EVERY day. The
reason that I have to do this? My parents. I could just try to ignore the
fact that they would stop talking to me if I kept it in all day, but I figure
that communication can be important at times. I've had the pierce for a while
now and things have healed nicely. I got it during school so that it would
heal by the time I got home so that I could take it out around my parents.
During the time that it's out, I usually put a small piece of a 16ga ring in
to keep things open. It works fine. The only problem is that I lose the
little bits of the ring every once in a while and 16ga captivated bead rings
aren't the cheapest things around (although they are cheaper than most body
jewelry). I'm planning on getting another ring in my eyebrow which means that
it will be twice the hassle in the future. Oh well, the prices you pay...
