Question:
Dermatologist Tattoo Removal prob?
Like many guys I have a couple of tattoos.
I guess I am now tired of them, the body is aging and the tatts are
starting to look out of date.
I wanted to know if anybody has had tattoos removed and what was
effective.
I have been told it is best to start off with a fading cream (with
something like hydroquinone) and then finishing it off with laser
treatment.
The answer is unfortunately a bit complicated, since the
best course of action (and thus results) will depend on
where the tattoo, how long it has been there and how evenly
it was applied in the first place.
Given all the variables you will need to see a consultant
experienced in removing tattoos. Your GP (if she or he is
any good) will either know a local Dermatologist or Plastic
Surgeon and will make a recommendation, or will advise you
which local hospitals you can contact yourself. Its worth
getting a quote for the cost of the first "consultation
only" and then get a detailed costing at the end of the
first consultation.
Answer:
- It might be better to see a tattoo artist who specialises in cover-up work
and get your ink updated. Check out rec.arts.bodyart or Body Modification
Ezine
- Thought you might be interested - if you ever get there. Found a place
that does laser work at Liverpool Street tube. It was a great
sensation getting my first of 6 jabs of the laser. Will be expensive to
get rid of the two i dont like. If not all goes I may get the area
re-worked.
