Has anyone heard anything about Tatex, a chemical tattoo removal kit of sometype?

Question:
Has anyone heard anything about Tatex, a chemical tattoo removal kit of sometype?

Other than being banned by the FDA (isn't everything?) does anyone have any first hand experience with it? It's produced by a company out of Canada, and supposedly has been used there and in Europe a bit.

Also interested in whether anyone has had any type of Medical chemical removal done in the past. How well did it work? Any scarring?

I have a few solid old tats, my first two, that I would like to have ligtened up a bit before I have a coverup done on them eventually in the next year or so.

Also, does anyone have firsthand exp on Laser removal costs?

Answer:
- This is a small section from Cindy Browning's personal experience with laser tattoo removal. The rest of her write-up (as well as information on tattoo removals in general) is available from the Tattoo FAQ 7/9 (General care/Removal):

"The initial consultation was $45.00, and each 15-minute treatment is $195.00 (with incremental amounts added for every additional minute. It was $240 for 19 minutes. Aftercare is exactly the same as that for a tattoo, with 6-8 weeks between treatments. The results from my first treatment; there are areas where the tats have completely disappeared, although I was advised that this might not happen on every try."

She didn't say how much she was able to get rid of in her sessions, but I seem to recall that it was a fairly slow-going process (no faster than it took to get the tattoos in the first place). Dollar for dollar, laser removal is probably at least two to three times the cost of GETTING the tattoo in the first place. It's also not covered by health insurance. - seem to recall that it was a fairly slow-going process (no faster than it took to get the tattoos in the first place). In the two sessions, about 50-60% of the original tattoos were removed. I am presently in the process of getting _at least_ one of them redone or covered up. I'd have to say, this was A Learning Experience ;-) and if I had to do it all over again, I'd probably just keep the tattoos, grin, and bear it.......
